Guide Dogs is our chosen charity
The Guide Dogs story started in 1931 with two amazing British pioneers, Muriel Crooke and Rosamund Bond. These remarkable women organised the training of the first four British guide dogs from a humble lock up garage in Wallasey, Merseyside.
Since those early days, Guide Dogs have come a very long way! Today Guide Dogs is the world's largest breeder and trainer of working dogs. To Date, 36,000 lives have been transformed through a guide dog partnership since 1931.
Here at Proper Natural, Guide Dogs has been our chosen charity since we opened. Across our 3 shops we love getting to meet members of the Guide Dogs community on a weekly basis and get to see first-hand the sheer amount of work that goes into making this organisation so amazing. We love supporting all their hard work which not only helps to train dogs whilst ensuring the health and wellbeing is paramount but provides masses of physical and emotional support to their service users, families and friends.
